This is a much loved project of G’s that she designed whilst she was at university 15 years or so ago. After some time off and a career change or two, G is now revisiting the surreal worlds she once imagined for her final project. She’s currently bringing these scenes to life through painting, the first step in a long-held dream to one day develop the story into a feature film.

Inspired by H.G.Wells - ‘A Modern Utopia’ where one must travel alone for a year with no provisions, going on a journey to figure out the meaning of life.

“Out they must go, clean out of the world. They must be alone with nature, necessity and their own thoughts… One becomes a personification up there. One becomes the ambassador of mankind to the outer world. There is time to think over a lot of things. One puts ones self and ones ambition in a new pair of scales… You come back physically clean - as though you had had your arteries and veins washed out. And your brain has been cleaned too.”
